Ashanapuri contributes to the Cities and Biodiversity and Climate Change and Ecosystems themes at SwedBio. She also provides support in strengthening the internal structure of SwedBio in areas such as policy and resource mobilisation.

Ashanapuri has a background in Environmental Engineering and obtained her master’s degree in Urban Management from the Technische Universität Berlin.  Her research focused on improving electronic waste management in Jakarta (Indonesia) and Hanoi (Viet Nam), under the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal.

Ashanapuri has been working in the fields of environmental management, green economy, and climate change for ten years. She has worked with a wide range of national and sub-national governments on behalf of international organisations, such as the German International Cooperation (GIZ), World Bank, Global Green Growth Institute, Union for the Mediterranean as well as various UN organisations. Her works mainly involved the provision of support in developing national strategies on Climate Change or Green Economy, mainstreaming of climate change into development planning, as well as mobilisation of resources.
